Explanations and Comments
Federal Funding of the Mountain Pine Beetle Action Plan, $100 million over three years, has been added to the Protection against
Fire and Pests, Forest Stewardship, Range Stewardship and Grazing, Pricing and Selling Timber and Executive Support Services
Core Businesses.
Increased funding to respond to the results of the internal and external inquiries into the 2003 and 2004 fire seasons, has
added to the Protection against Fire and Pests Core Business.
Funding for the new Forests for Tomorrow initiative, to address reforestation of areas impacted by wildfire and mountain pine
beetle, increases over the next three years, and is included in the Forest Stewardship Core Business.
The increase in Forest Investment FTEs is the result of a transfer of FTEs from the Forest Stewardship Core Business, to more
accurately reflect the activities funded.
