Deregulation and Regulatory Reform

The ministry will continue to support the shift from prescriptive regulations to results-based regulations within its public safety mandate. The number of regulatory requirements determined for June 2004 is set as the baseline and the target for the following three years is a zero per cent increase in the number of regulatory requirements.
